According to a report there are approx 83 million fake facebook profiles on the site. No no...it's not me who come up with this figure. As I said 'a report' says that.
And over 45 million accounts are duplicate, means who forgot their credentials and created another account.
And more the 14 million accounts are used deliberately to spread content which is undesirable such as spam and harmful links.
So fake accounts on facebook are around 8.7% of total accounts (955 million users).

Here are few simple observations which can tell you which account is fake.
A female friend request.
Beware friends. Do not accept a friend request just because it is from a girl. There are high chances that it could be a fake account which later on will spam your inbox.
Uses a profile picture of some bollywood actress.
Katrina most of the time.
Either no mutual friends or mutual friends are bunch of low intellect facebook addicts.
Horny status updates.
"Hi Guys, How I am looking?". It's a Trap.
Joined facebook recently, last month?
Not even a single real picture.
All photographs consists of Kittens, chocolates, Kissing, Angles, Love etc, but not a single real photo.
Low details in "About me" section.
Born on 1st January.
Last but not least, a Blunder.
